Clicket at the Festivals Day 2
The Festival Fringe begins today (officially that is!) although we'd already been partying with the many talented performers who've descended on our fair city at the Assembly Rooms Fringe Launch and The List Fringe Party at Summerhall! That awesome photo of the newly refurbished Assembly Rooms above, was taken by the fantabulous Eoin Carey - and boy do these guys know how to host a great party!
At both parties, we were treated to a dazzling showcase of the talents who will be gracing the multiple Fringe stages across the city.
The Assembly Rooms gave us a taster of the knock-out array of programme across comedy, theatre, music, cabaret and the spoken word. Of worthy mention are Liz Lochhead (her poems made us blush! | 3 - 26 Aug), Return of the Lumberjacks ( three Canadian comedians for the price of one! | 3 - 26 Aug) and Camille O'Sullivan (one word, the songstress is AMAZING! | 4 - 7 Aug). We desperately want tell you about all the performers but it would make for a lengthy blog, so click here for a full listing of the Assembly Rooms Fringe Events.
Over at The List party - the best of the world's biggest arts festival descended upon Summerhall. From hip hop poetry to brass bands to everything mesmerising and wonderful in between - our five senses thank you dear Fringe performers.
In the parting wise words of my veteran-of-the-Fringe cab driver who took our tired bodies home, he said, "Enjoy the Festival Fringe, you'll be surprised at every corner!" And we're so looking forward to it! So bring on the festivals!
