Scottish Storytelling Centre Located on the Royal Mile, the Scottish Storytelling Centre incorporates historic John Knox House, the 99-seat Netherbow Theatre and the George Mackay Brown Library, and is the headquarters of the Scottish Storytelling Network. Surgeons' Hall Museum Over the road from the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, the Surgeons' Hall Museum houses one of the largest collections of surgical material in the UK. As well as permanent exhibitions concerning the history of surgery, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions, which in the past have featured wartime surgery and the remains of Burke and Hare. St Triduana's Chapel, Restalrig Collegiate Church Located in the Restalrig district of Edinburgh, St. Triduana's Chapel is a low hexagonal building lying next to St Margaret's Parish Church. The lower part of the chapel houses the shrine of St Triduana, a Pictish saint famed for healing the blind. The hexagonal vaulted chamber is reputedly unique.

Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick Perched on a rocky outcrop at North Berwick Harbour, the Seabird Centre offers remote viewing of a variety of seabirds and wildlife via live cameras installed on islands in the Forth estuary, as well as boat trips out to the islands. There’s also a café with an open air deck for sunny afternoons.

Scott Monument The uppermost viewing platform of the Walter Scott Monument on Princes Street can be reached only by a 287-step series of narrow spiral staircases, but the view from the top is worth it. Completed in 1844, the black soot-stained tower serves as a reminder of why Edinburgh used to be called ‘Auld Reekie.’
