Eagle Rock, Cramond On the shore of the River Forth at Cramond is Eagle Rock, so named because of the eagle thought to have been carved into it by Roman troops garrisoned at the nearby fort at Cramond. The rock is much-eroded, leading to speculation that the carving may instead be of a pagan deity.
